iSchool Directory - Beta launch

We had just soft launch our iSchool Directory, part of the iSchool Suite of product, integrating with Google Maps. The current beta launch is based on an outdated database of 2004, we are still preparing for the database for the approximately 10,000 schools in Malaysia, with more up-to-date info, once they are migrated, you would be able to search for any of the schools in Malaysia.In the current beta implementation, we are using Google Maps API’s geocoder which now supports address geocoding, where we will tag the school to the nearest town, if we do not find the school’s coordinates in our database.
As Google Maps updated the Malaysian Map with their partners, more accurate address geocoding information will be updated, as many of the current maps, especially in major towns, already have the school’s name geocoded.
We will also be coordinating with various parties, including the Malaysian Ministry of Education, to update as many school coordinates as possible, so that we can get all the 10,000 schools tagged with the correct locations.
